The LOVE LEAD RESEARCH AND DATA ASSOCIATION (LoRDA Research Center)

is a nonpartisan, independent think tank with its Head office in Bamenda, Mezam Division of the North West Region of Cameroon.  Its mission is “To advance economic and social change through sound data and research evidence. Its sound data and research works in education, health, economic development and governance advance the principles of limited government, individual prosperity and freedom". 

Established in 2019 by Prof. Dr. Ndamsa Dickson Thomas, the LoRDA Research Center seeks to conduct and promote sound policy research for policy purpose in order to support public policies that help all Cameroonians and Africans prosper in a strong, free, fair, and sustainable economy. Our strength is founded on our independence, nonpartisan research and policy directives.

LoRDA Research Center works with researchers and professionals to bridge the gap between research and practice, it has expert researchers and leading analysts in the fields of economic/business policy, peace and security, education, regional integration, governance and politics; environment and climate change; gender issues; and applied statistics.

Our VISION

LoRDA’s VISION is to see Cameroon/Africa transformed into a society where the people are informed to make the choices that affect their lives and freedoms, and where policy decisions are based on sound data and research evidence (that is, on ‘ what the people say ’).

This vision statement is guided by the following goals:
-See public and private sector policies shift in favour of ‘what the people say’ and not ‘what the politicians or elite group says’, and

-See public and private sector policies derived from sound data and research evidences.

Our OBJECTIVES

– To conduct and promote sound policy research activities in order to provide evidence for informed decision making,

– To collect, gather and arrange needed data and ease access to it for research and policy analyses,
– To accompany and promote all actions from government and non-governmental organisations in conducting policy relevant research on issues of interest,
– To contribute in supporting the personal growth and development of persons through capacity building, education, leadership empowerment and promotion of appropriate socio-economic activities that encourage creativity, inclusive development and greater learning,

– To promote and provide research and data capacity building seminars to postgraduate students, early career researchers and female researchers to enable them carry out independent research activities and sound data analyses,
– To accompany students with visual impairment through their research career goals,
– To seek and provide funding to policy relevant research activities of students and professional researchers,
– To provide high level technical assistance and collaborative, as well as partnership services in the collection of data and implementation of sound research activities/recommendations.
